Questions
Who can enter
Who can enter?
Nevada residents 21 and older. Everyone in your film, on screen and behind the camera, has to be 21+ too.
Can a team enter?
Yes. One person submits the film and lists the crew.
Can I enter more than one film?
No. It's one film per person, in one category.
Making your film
Does it have to be new?
For the judged prizes, yes: make it for this festival. A film you've already made can go in the open category, where it's up for People's Choice.
Where do I get a Green bag?
Every purchase at a Green store leaves in one. Stop by any Green, including the new Green North at 5530 N Decatur.
Can I film inside a Green store?
No. Our stores are regulated spaces, so no filming inside. The bag, the logo and the outside of a store are fair game.
Can people use Green products on screen?
Only adults 21 and up, and the film has to follow Nevada's advertising rules. No one under 21 appears on screen at all.
Can I use AI?
Yes. The film still has to be your own original work, and any music in it has to be cleared.
Can I use music I didn't write?
Only if it's cleared: you own it, or you have permission to use it.
Does Green have to be in an open-category film?
No. Finished films can be any genre, and Green is optional.
Entering
Where are the waivers?
There's no paper to chase. You sign the entry agreement as the last step of the entry form. List everyone who appears on screen, and we text or email each of them a link to sign their own release from their phone. If no one appears on screen, tick the box that says so.
How big can the file be?
Up to 10 GB, MP4 or MOV. Export at 1920×1080.
My upload stopped. Do I start over?
No. Open your entry, choose the same file again, and it picks up where it left off. Your progress is saved.
Can I change my film after I submit?
Once you submit, your entry is locked. To fix something, email support@highbeams.vegas with your entry reference. You can update your cast list until Nov 13.
After you enter
How will I know if my film is in?
Our team watches every entry, then texts and emails you either way.
Do I get a ticket?
If your film gets in, your High Beams ticket is marked Filmmaker. High Beams is free, so your cast and crew can RSVP too.
Do I have to be at the drive-in to win?
No, but we hope you come. The festival plays on Screen 2 at 5:30 PM on Nov 14.
How do winners get paid?
By check.
What happens to my rights?
You keep them. You license Green and Del Mar Advertising to screen, stream and promote the film, as the entry agreement says.
